When any company, even you BBC, say they've "committed" to something that just translates into that the minimal amount of effort is being put forth to satiate the lowest bar the general public will permit. There's no higher standard or greater good in their eyes, it's just a matter of how little do they need to do to get out of the crosshairs of the public's ire. Then they'll see exactly how far they can go again before they're in the spotlight once more and keep playing that game of chicken until it becomes too much. So don't expect much from Youtube. Instead parents need to parent and teachers need to teach. It's just the reality of it all. Social justice and all of that mess be damned, kids either learn the stuff that will benefit them in the future or they don't. That's the role of the older generation has to the younger generation. Failure to do that is on the species as a whole. We've developed AI and have just let it go for anyone to use, similar to gunpowder. Suddenly we're appalled that it's being used to potentially harm others when the requisite of responsibility was waived far too long ago. We really haven't learned anything from the past and we're doomed to repeat it once again. Don't wait for the situation to resolve itself, do your part to be part of the solution. Because if you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem.
