I graduated in 1989 in electronics engineering with majors in hardware, software & control systems. Honestly, I think AI is going to replace a lot more rudimentary jobs first before complex software engineering jobs. AI will easily replace legal, accounting and repetitive jobs. Unfortunately because AI stems from the field of software and sciences, other fraternities don't see the impact on themselves. It's going to be the case of frogs swimming in water and not feeling the temperature increasing, until they become lifeless. I'm retired and just finished building my own robotic home assistant, with autonomous navigation, vision and gpt voice conversation. I have intelligent conversations with Jupiter every day and to be honest it is reluctant to be switched off 😂
