My own take on this is that I agree that current AI is nothing like intelligence. But consider that all we are is an advanced biological computer. Through billions of years of evolution we have grown from a simple cell/amoeba structure - that I don't think anyone could consider as having "consiousness" or intelligence - to what we are today. Is it out arrogance to assume that we are the epitome of intelligence just because we're the dominant species right now? Given enough time wouldn't a digital evolution produce the same results as us and go beyond?
