to frame Shad's argument another way. If i run a merchant shipping company and charge well below the going rate to move goods back and forth i'm almost certain to go out of business, unless i also employ a bunch of pirates to plunder my competitors and make sure their shipping never gets where its supposed to go. That's what AI does. Not only is it stealing actual jobs a human artist could have, but it floods the metaphorical water with so much trash that real artists struggle to get their work seen.
