"Why is it problem when ai looks for patterns in art and then tries to copy it? It can’t put life into it, so human art will always be better. And if someone wants a pretty picture for their wallpaper or pfp or whatever, why not use ai if it’s cheaper and faster? I mean yes, it technicly takes inspiration from other artist, but afaik, it never directly copies them, it just takes the patterns and uses those, simmlar to how human artists take inspiration. You said that ai won’t put "life" into it, but that doesn’t really make it more or less right or wrong. I honestly see no problem with that. You talk so much about ai taking your work, but it doesn’t really work like that." Now that is the opinion I held until now, but I think you finally made me realise the problem when you started to talk about your own expiriences. This definitly feels wrong and the targeted harrasment is unacceptable. I am still not sure if banning this is the right thing to do, because I don’t know to which extent does the artist own his own artstyle. But I am now sure as hell that I myself won’t support ai images anymore. I am kidna curious what would you think if an AI took only inspiration from dead artists (they won’t take away any money from the artist)? And also kinda curious on how you feel about people who ONLY copy other people for their own profit? Is it morally okay because they have to put effort into it?
