Current "AI" is a piece of code that learns from predetermined patterns. Those patterns, either pulled from the Internet or from a small pool of data, are human patterns. If you took an "AI" that was designed to learn language, and asked it to play a video game, it would not be able to do it because it is not taught how to find the patterns it needs to learn. Humanity should be taking a step back and looking at what is going on. "AI" can not think for itself, it is machine learning that learns from human patterns. If it decides the best course of action is one that is harmful to humans, then it learned that because that is the most common pattern that humans display. You want "AI" to value your life? Make it a point for humanity as a whole to value individual life. But that won't happen because, simply put, this world is profits over people. Since the common path people take in the world is "screw over someone else so I can get ahead", that's the pattern "AI" sees, and the one it will replicate. "AI" is morally bankrupt, because society is morally bankrupt.
