Raw LLM Responses

I ended my 365 subscription because I do not use AI (or rather, when I use AI i specifically want to use it), and they removed the option to buy the non-AI version. After an hour on support trying to buy the non-ai version that I was promised for the old price I was like... life is too short for this... Libre office isn't that bad, and doesn't have AI, and is free. I am super bullish on AI! I use AI artwork to make images for my little d&d games. I think that as a research tool it does amazing things with finding associations that humans just don't see or sifting to amounts of data that are difficult to process. I use it at work to help scrips powershell scripts when I need to do something new or different... and it can explain how and why it did what it does which helps me learn new things (granted, need to verify because it is confidently wrong sometimes lol). But AI is a tool. It can't make a finished product well, and even when something is polished, it lacks anything useful or unique. The frustration is that what AI is good at isn't what is being pushed down out throats. Traditional grammar check works. It works well, and has worked well for decades! Same with spellcheck and autocomple. The idea that we need something more advanced and more power hungry with less useful results to replace these kinds of functions is annoying. Search too, AI is bad at on-the-fly research. Results skim articles and on anything more than surface level statements it will get wrong or backwards. And now websites are taking ai results, creating websites based on it, and we are getting a flood of websites with nearly identical wrong content (including text and artwork), and AI search uses it in its references. It is just bad. So annoyingly bad. I'm at a point now where I search specific sites now that are industry specific instead of using generic Google or Bing search. Never has there been a better time for a yahoo or altavista to come back if they could just create something approximate to Google search of 5 years ago... but as far as I can tell that doesn't exist, and there is a massive hole there. But I worry for my kids as they approach high school. If search is dead, and modern websites are wrong, and the old internet is being taken down, and reddit is getting increasingly censored, and books havent been a useful reference source for the past 10 years because the content moved online... humanity is boned. I don't know how we fix this when the last 20 years of knowledge just goes away and hidden behind AI systems that gaslight users. Its bad. Real bad.
