you touched on porn, but i think because porn serves a, uh, “discrete function”, the xqc “art as product” has some applicability, unlike more general art where it could be its own objective in and of itself
having said that, not even the best ai imitation can replace my preferred nsfw artist’s actual output
also there is in fact a metric in which art is “better” in the minds of these joyless individuals: a content that can be monetized better is objectively “superior”; unfortunately a consequence of the hypercapitalist environment we live in
I use AI myself but the farthest I can use it is for ideation phase; where you say surrendering the creative step to AI is to remove yourself from the art, I feel it to my soul.
