It seems like there's another big definitional difference here. Most people here AGI will benefit humanity, and it will, as a species. It'll cure disease and advance science and all kinds of good things. But none of that has anything to do with consumers or individuals, they are not making it for us the people, we have to live through the dark ages first and it is going to be the 1% using AI to get everything from everyone else. But they aren't lying either, it will help humanity.
