The way I’m starting to understand this issue is that it’s similar to the “long tail” phenomena in the marketplace that occurred after we became capable of buying and using products (digital and physical) from anywhere in the world. We moved from the box store model where large amounts of people in a physical community saw the same commercials, watched (and trusted) the same news, bought the same things and had the same taste in products like food, music and clothing to the global market, where individual tastes and preferences can be served because our ability to connect with people and cultures from across the globe has become inexpensive and efficient - and in so doing, we’ve isolated ourselves into individual silos rather than physical community silos. Individuals can now be made more extreme in every way from personal product preferences to world views and morality and culture, and most people are unaware that this is happening to them- therefore they are unaware that they are being fed information that prioritizes keeping them addicted to their phones rather than prioritizing information that is true and useful. This becomes an existential crisis because AI is rapidly exacerbating this long tail phenomena in every aspect of our lives and we no longer know or trust our physical neighbors, and we see the world through a lens made of lies. The enemy of this world seeks to steal, kill and destroy us, and sowing division and lies is his bread and butter. Seek the Lord, and He will set you on the path of righteousness and truth.
