If all art is just taken from other artists, and has been for over a century, with not a single artist actually creating anything genuinely new and individual in the last 100 years, then how could a single new idea have come out during that time? How could we have possibly transitioned and shifted from one music genre and film style and clothing fad to the next? Artists in every single facet of the creative world are literally constantly evolving and discovering and creating brand new things that nobody's ever seen before. How can an adult human brain possibly be so blind to that fact, against which there is no defense besides covering their eyes, alongside the stark contrast that is AI literally requiring a CONSTANT FLOW of brand new exclusively human-created art in order to continue functioning? And remember, the word "functioning" here means that it's mimicking the art that was used to train it, art that a human artist created for the first time at some point in the past due to their own life experiences and creativity. That's why you can specify an individual artist to emulate when writing an AI art prompt, and why AI artists tend to use this feature quite extensively. They see, they like, they copy. These AI art defenders are essentially (and literally, as seen by the multiple comments highlighted in this video stating as such) claiming that humans, including themselves, are definitively incapable of creating something new. What a sad life to live, fancying yourself an artist, all the while wholly convinced that you are not, and will never be, capable of creating anything on your own. Artists influencing each other, which AI art defenders claim is the same as training an AI, really just ends up being the result of people living out their lives figuring out what kind of art they like, what specific details resonate with them, and which medium(s) they enjoy engaging in. But then in the end, each individual artist will always, always end up creating their own art in their own unique style, based on their own unique combination of every artist they've ever seen, how much each artist impacted them, how much they focused on each artist, how much random experimentation they did on their own in a creative vacuum, the life they've lived, the goals they have, their memories, their emotions, their friends and family, etc.. No two artists' styles are identical down to the last detail. Go look on DeviantArt, VGen, ArtFight, ArtStation, hell even any Booru, and you'll be met with an essentially endless sea of different artists, all with their own identifiable style. If you browse completely randomly, you'll find yourself recognizing the works of individual artists as you come across more of their art because, surprise, they're unique. AI art is not, because it cannot be by definition. I could go on and on but nobody's even going to read this comment as it is. All in all, if you don't want to BE creative, then don't. You can go your whole life just consuming and admiring other talented people's work, and that's fine. Not everybody needs to create. But if you DO want to create, don't make it the equivalent of a ransom note made out of letters cut from a magazine. Pick up a pencil and write it yourself.
