Since using ChatGPT to help find articles for a presentation I did several months, I've been warning everyone I could about this very phenomenon.
This means there are hundreds or THOUSANDS of articles or presentations out there that haven't been challenged, that are based on false citations. The crazy thing is that the conclusions will generate real papers that will propagate these false conclusions. This will be an absolute disaster and impossible to unwind.
