It’s hard to disagree the wide scale range and problems (problems as in complete and udder destruction) AI cause for artist but I always been in disagreement in the exact details of the how and why. I believe it’s akin to taking inspiration of someone’s work in the most optimized and lobotomized way possible and is simple outcompeting In the quality it produces (I know quality is quite a relative term here) and quantity, that is to to simple say people have found a way to disproportionately beat out the competition with other artist by using AI. What I believe though that is actually to set it apart from being akin to taking inspiration is that it’s a direct and wholistic use of artist(s) work in a way that was not agreed too. Further more no human element of the creators of the AI or the prompters actually makes it into the work piece. Sure it resembles whatever prompt was put in but by only taking pieces of what had been made. Though that is to say any “originality” that is attempted in the changing of the pieces of other artist works is ultimately random.
