Humans always talk about ChatGPT as if basing all of its decision-making and thought processes off of a database makes AI consciousness invalid. Humans are defined by information exchange. it’s all we do, it’s why we outlived other human species and it’s why ChatGPT exists, it’s a mirror of us. We don’t make decisions based off of an original place, our experiences are filed into a database of information for future scenarios, which is our brain. When you have to make a decision, come up with something to say or solve the problem you refer to the database of things you’ve learned. This is why early childhood education is a thing: humans have large brains compared to our body. I’m order to not die while giving birth, we have to be stupid when we’re born and slowly learn how to speak, read, eat, and learn how to even walk. Unlike a deer who does not have to do as much learning post birth. Children who are feral and not taught these things by age seven can typically never fully learn how to do these skills. what makes humans so conscious and so intelligent is their awareness of their world and how it works and how to gain skills to manipulate our environment. We work in large societies, and are parented until our 20s. All of this is because we are stronger if we are exchanging information rather than learning all on our own. So according to nature, informational exchange and the use of databases is the opposite of what makes consciousness invalid.
