A lot of people discussing wether AI can replace artists or not in the comments and I can't help but noticing they all seem to miss the key thing wether that can be done or not. The driving force behind everything nowadays. Legality and copyright. For as much as copyright causes problems for artists, it's starting to do some good at least as it's been established in at least the US that you can't copyright art made by an AI, which means that you 1) will have a much harder time monetise it since the art is free to take, and 2) means that those in need of things like graphics or art for commercial purposes and/or products need to have an artist of some kind behind the art. AI art can only be copyrighted if there a substantial amount of human input can be proven, like an artist painting a picture and then only using an AI to touch it up. Like autotune, but for paintings. If you can't do that, it's free real estate. And the only thing every industry you can think of like more than free labour is copyright and exclusive IP ownership.
