My belief is, incentivized Citizen Science could be a GREAT alternative to a Universal Basic Income (UBI). If UBI simply pays people for existing, an Incentivized Citizen Science Economy (an Epistemic Economy, using an Epistemic Currency) pays them for helping civilization exist _better_ *(and with greater purpose).* There are currently hundreds of Citizen Science projects (could be thousands, or millions in the future) that focus on studies in: Bio-medical Research, Environmental Monitoring, Space Science, AI Training and Development, Infrastructure, Materials and Energy Science, Social/Behavioral Research, Sensor Design and Open Hardware testing ... It would just take some great minds to see this potential.
