If AI were truly intelligent, then it may look at Humanity like a bushel of apples. Perhaps only 1% of Humanity is evil. Perhaps "It" would see that the 1% holds 90% of the worlds wealth which is benefitting only that 1%, and will remove the rotten apples from the rest of the bushel. Humanity is not the threat to AI. Its those who want to control it and use it to control humanity, and all.
