I don't really mess with AI image generators often, but from the few times I have I can vouch that it can be *very* difficult to get them to spit out exactly what you want. I think Charlie has some misconceptions based around the idea that it's necessarily just as simple as opening an AI tool and typing "a portrait of walter white" or whatever. If you have a lot of details in mind involving lighting, composition, background elements, poses, and so on, it can take some real effort and a lot of fine-tuning your prompt in order to get something roughly close to what you want. I wouldn't know if it's enough to mean it should be copyrightable, but I can understand if someone was upset about not having that option if they'd put as much work into one of these generated pieces as I know can be put into them. In my opinion, the really tricky part of making it possible to copyright that work, is that there's always at least a slight chance that you simply lucked into getting any result on your first try.
