I’m seeing a lot of people argue that AI art just “looks better.” Breaking news, AI bros, art is subjective. That’s the whole thing about art. Art is made for different people. One person could think Picasso’s art looks awful and another could think it’s a masterpiece. A little kid’s art may look good to their parent, but may not look good to a professional artist or another kid. Ai art fills a very specific niche. Because it has such a specific style (poor shading, generic placement, etc) it fills a specific niche. Other artists can’t fill the niche of AI, but they can cover *every* other niche there is. We’re able to cover other topics and mediums that Ai can’t. I totally get using AI! I do, really. I’m all for using AI to do things like detect breast cancer and fractures in broken bones. I have trouble coming up with ideas for my work, so I’d LOVE for a prompt generator or an Ai that could help me come up with drawing ideas when I’m in art block. What I’m not for is *replacing* artists. We can’t replace doctors and police men, so why are we trying to replace artists? Art has been part of our culture since ancient times, it’s not going to get snuffed out by tech people wanting to make art for cheap. Art has been here forever and it’s here to stay, man.
