Problem is.. it is still just a pattern recognition machine, act based on its training data.. It doesn't even recognize an upside down cup .. I saw many user shows how stupid ai can be when facing unfamiliar situations What is scary here is not "the AGI" it is the corrupted companies who are willing to ignore every ethics , copyrights law, and even buying up their way by bribing politicians , covering up crimes to protect themselves... the irony is All of this while ai is not even covering up the mind boggling costs compared to its revenue .... And what do we have now.. internet full of AI ads and products that barely solve real issues, aside from translation and medical field, ai really caused more harm than benefits to humanity, pollution, economy about to crash, misinformation, fake videos, scams, ads, ai psychosis.. etc Not worth even the 1% of the money being poured there, For a sec imagine if all that money went to medical or clean energy researches, bet we would have several breakthrough by now if we did that instead of relying on the illusion that one day our ai overboard will solve all the problems It is just creating more problems and companies started to realize it is not even that reliable to replace humans in most jobs that require critical consistent thinking and managing longterm situations... I hope the world wake up early before this cause the most boring economic apocalypse ever.. Ai is a overrated hyped tool that could've been used in a simple but useful matters , humanity should've moved on from this already instead of feeding capitalists and companies greeds
