Is this AI "mirroring human bias," or is this AI noticing patterns? Humans also notice patterns... and I know this might be shocking, but that isn't racist. Humans have been conditioned to be "politically correct," which is itself an issue, especially within medicine. Some treatments work better for one race over another, some medications work better for some races more than others, some races have higher side effects than others from certain medications, and doctors should be noticing these differences so they can give the best treatment they can.
AI recommending different treatments based on race isn't by itself an issue because AI might be noticing that certain races don't respond as well to certain treatments or medications. So, if AI has noticed that black people have a high rate of side effects on a certain medication, then they wouldn't recommend that medication for black people. Maybe AI noticed that black people have a higher success rate on a different medication, or with a different treatment, and so it's recommendations are different for black people. That doesn't make it a bias or racism.
People are often far too quick to call "racism" when there are other explanations.
