I do not like all the talk about intelligence and consciousness. I think it is more helpful to think of a new form of communication similar to the shift to the printing press. Suddenly machines begin to communicate. This does not mean this is not big. The printing press was one of the biggest event in history but of a different kind. We have to understand that LLMs are coupled to communication like our mind but without being a mind. There is so much anthropomorphization going on in this interview, here more care and critical reflection is required. It is not a surprise, for so many years we only talked to people.
