Supply and demand. If the supply of collage graduates is greater than the demand, well, it’s going to be harder to find a job. The big push to get a collage degree in order to get a high paying job is now falling apart. A lot of these jobs can be outsourced to other countries or, as in this case, AI.
I feel skilled trades are now the place to be. Yes it can be hard work, however, you can’t outsource a
electrician, plumber, mechanic, welder, ect. These jobs have to be done here, they can’t be outsourced. As a bonus, some companies offer paid apprenticeships WITH benefits because they are having such a hard time finding workers. This offers the opportunity of no collage debt and the potential to make a six figure paycheck per year. Bring back vocational classes in high schools, most of the skilled trade workers are nearing retirement and these jobs will be in high demand in the near future.
