AI is just a trigger word here. There is zero difference between what OpenAI's software did and a website just ripping the article off of the times website and reposting it as their own, since that is most literally what 'ai' is doing here. What we call ai is just a if/then statement pulling whatever data is fed to it then adding fluff words to make it appear more appetizing to the common user. That is literally it. A middle schooler with a brief knowledge of BASIC can make an ai model (albeit a very simple model), it's not complex at all.
