I feel like there WAS real Ai art, or at least Ai was a real medium for art in very few contexts. But those contexts are all but gone now.
The real Ai art was that beginning nonsensical slush that felt both fascinating and confusing. A minimally popular subfield that was almost entirely used as gags.
“I forced a bot to watch 1000 hours of series, here it is animated” (though several of those were exposed as fakes)
“I taught an AI to make pasta” by answers in progress

Those are the few examples — not the soulless plagiarized slop of today. I want to go back.
