You make excellent points. Hopefully the lawsuits in progress will force more regulation. Creators need to know the minute they create art they own the copyright (don’t even have to register it - although that reinforces your ownership). AI learning is intellectual theft, and you’re correct, it should be opt-in only.
It’s important to note no one can copyright AI generated art unless a human artist has changed it significantly. Businesses do not want to have art in what they publish or sell not protected by copyright.
