In dentistry, it seems like AI is all positives and no negatives. It will help us interpret x-rays, formulate treatment plans, take notes and charting, etc. But it’s not going to take our job and start drilling teeth on patients who are wide awake. That is why dentistry is unique from many other medical surgical specialties where the patients are completely under anesthesia, and they don’t care if a human or a robot is doing a procedure. Ask yourself a question, would you want a robot working in your mouth while you are awake?
