Software engineers, writers and visual artists are in the same boat in these strange times. AI is not up to the task of replacing them, but is cheapening their work as if it were. Individual humans have a voice, a history, and a shape of thought that data-trained models can't capture. So strange to see people lie to themselves that none of that matters, sprinting to make a world where it is so in hopes they have some place in it. Our irrelevance is not inevitable unless we make it so.
