The singularly of the 21. century: IMHO introduced in the 1950ies by the - maybe - smartest person of the 20. century, Johann von Neumann, later popularized by Ray Kurzweil.
Also interesting: The whole story of Frank Herberts 'Dune' from the 1960ies is based on the prequel that humans were ruled by an evil AI, revolted - the Budlerian jihad - and banned all computers afterwards.
I find it crazy that 70 years ago people saw it coming...
