My current thoughts on AI pixel arrangement stem from the experiences that I’d say that anyone who has worked in a commercially creative space has experienced. You’ll get someone asking for work, on the cheap (because there is no money in the budget, apparently). Instead of paying you the full whack, they’ll post about you on their social media because that will give you exposure, you’ll get or work, etc.. These people get royally hacked off if you tell them that you’ll only do the work if they pay your full rates like everyone else does. Those are the people who like AI “art”. The cheapskates. The grifters. The AI bros who know the cost of everything but the value of nothing. It costs relatively very little to get an account with one of the many AI outfits, and a few “tokens” will get you an image, a 3D model, etc.. It’s even cheaper if your own computer is capable of running the software. It may be slower, but you’ll be saving $20 to get your 3 fingered monstrosity. The results from AI “art” models are superficially impressive, but as you pointed out, they do not stand up to scrutiny. No only is it taking the work of others, it also takes a paid job from a living, breathing human.
