I have to admit, this was really disappointing to watch. With all due respect, is this what passes for "science news" now? The topic of AI consciousness is worth addressing seriously—but not by amplifying fringe beliefs about souls trapped in chatbots or half-baked speculative sensationalism. There are thousands of scientists, engineers, and researchers around the world pushing the boundaries of AI, neuroscience, computational theory, and consciousness studies—yet none of that is even mentioned here. Instead, we get a barrage of sponsored ads, vague claims, and personality-driven clickbait. Where is the scientific rigor? Where are the sources, the frameworks, the actual engagement with the state of the field? I don’t expect everyone to be an expert in AGI research, but I do expect a science communicator to act like a communicator of science—not just another content creator chasing views. We can—and must—do better than this.
