With due regards, we should be more worried about the lunatic pandemic of humans than AI. Perhaps AI can bring them on track! Check the monstrocities happening in the world. (murders, wars, street fights, partison politics, crimes with drugs, migration,). I believe there is only one thin line which is God's grace why this whole earth is in cohesion. Perhaps use AI in a better way to restore order. AI can detect patterns in much better way to mitigate this chaos. This is also a creation by humans - can be used for good- why only speak of extinction or misuse. The issue is that if it is put to good use lot of top of pyramid restructuring will happen which no one wants. If good behavior is incentivised the world will collapse- with pinch of a salt- will have to be done in steps. Humans need AI to protect from humans.
