I do think there is one major issue with this thinking though. An AI does not need to be smarter then one human, it does not need to be smarter then 10 humans. It needs to be smarter then millions. A phone is not made by a single person, it's thousands of people in the company. Thousands of scientists discovering new tech ect.
So the real question is this. When will AI be as smart as people? That does not mean they can beat us yet. But it does mean we need to start thinking of them differently.
