There will be lots of jobs which can’t be automated. People need housing and food, so there will be jobs around that. People need health care and long term care, so there will be lots of jobs again. Today, we don’t know who’s going to do all that care work in the future, so it’s great if we can employ less people in other industries. There will probably be entertainers, undertakers, politicians who want to be seen to be in charge, diplomats, lobbyists (there’s always a lobby), gardeners, and people who’re helping you around the house. There will be garbage, so we probably still need garbage collectors. Classic Production also will need people, somebody got to maintain the automats. Maybe people rediscover religion, then there will be preachers. Men need sex, so there will be prostitutes. Can’t imagine there will be no criminals, so there will be jobs around that. And if there’s something like basic universal income, there will be countless jobs because people just do what they like and call it a profession. My question is rather what the future distribution of income and wealth is going to look like. Oh and by the way, where‘s all that energy to come from which we need for this kind of society?
