i completely disagree with you about the steroids example. the point of school work is essentially to work out mentally rather than physically. people who make AI do their work aren’t just having AI help them understand how to do their work—they’re having AI do the work itself, because the work is reading comprehension and idea generation. it’s not being treated as a tool, students are giving the work to AI and letting it do it with little to no input from the student. it’s not at all akin to steroids, because at least with steroids you’re physically doing all the work. it’s much more like making a robot work out for you.
