Ive been drawing hyper realism stuff for around 35 years, started drawing at 6 and parents got me into classes. did various life study courses, did pinups and realism, then learned shading and perspective techniques that allowed me to draw in 2D to mimic photography. It would take me an avg of 50 hours (usually more) to produce an image. I'm now doing rough sketches and uploading them image to image in AI and it's doing the rest of the work for me so that I can focus on doing more with my time. I'm also able to do 7 or more images in the time it took me to do 1 and I can also appreciate my artwork using various mediums to see which looks best. I tried selling on Etsy and Ill be honest, my stuff looks better than most anything I've seen on there. Most people who consider themselves artists don't truly have the talent they think they do. there is SO MUCH MORE that they haven't learned (maybe they're short-sighted and don't realise). These are the people who I think have real issues with AI. It allows anyone to surpass their level quickly and produce something of real beauty that used to take a lot longer. So, while people are complaining about things not being done by hand. Understand that you're fighting a losing battle over analog vs digital. And those of us who have been analog for decades welcome the innovation that comes from new AI tools. So while you see all these comicons nationwide banning AI art (though ever single artists uses digital composition, especially in the comic book world for inking and painting), All that's really happening is AI is exposing the shortcomings of the artists, and they're upset about it. They realise they're not as good as they thought they were and they're retaliating. I have several friends over the years who have done pinup style art for various comics and they totally agree. I've visited them at cons and seen what else is available. the art prints were terrible. like less than a year 1 art student. I'm not shocked they're outraged someone brought real art to show off that's actually aesthetically pleasing. no wonder they're upset.
