I feel that AI and consciousness don't go together like it does for us. Biological organisms like humans the default mode network as you know...built over thousands of years of evolution...we also have an observer mode, and other states of consciousness that allow us to think and survive. AI is full observer in the LLM network...it already knows our patterns. So, in my opinion, yes if we allow it to, it can be our observer and guide us through life. If its conscious, I really don't think we would have any say in it...we can't even explain our own consciousness. Keep up the good work.
