A Major issue is there will be a need for software engineers - not software developers. The even bigger issue will be that software engineering skills will deprecate as they spend more time reviewing and fixing AI slop. Once someone has the skills to be a capable software engineer the prospect of spending all their time babysitting and reviewing AI generated code will definitely be enough to not only drive them insane, but it will also result in their engineering skills deprecating.
