I think we have a race happening. Going back a few years… when the cold war had two sides following WWII that were at a stand off that came perilously close to an accidental war beinf started… with none as close as the Cuban Missile crisis. Then we found out later it was just the fact that a Russian submarine captain who chose not to launch that allowed the solution to be found.
Now we seem to have a world that has forgotten the fear of nuclear war and there are numerous leaders actually openly flaunting provocation of nuclear strikes. In particular two religious states have now been brought to a state where the only solution once again is expected to be a full on nuclear war. So worrying about AI seems to me to be a very unknown topic. If it is true that the nature of man is evil then it will be no time until we see hordes of machines destroying infrastructure all over the world. So my prediction is that with the greed around now and the amount of crime, human society needs a major reckoning.. hopefully not so bad that there are no survivors, but let’s put it this way… at the moment the odds are not good for betting on a peaceful prosperous future for mankind. 😮😊
