I know my jobs gone, I'm in accounting, I just don't know how long I have but it causes me tremendous anxiety. I can 'theoretically' retire because I'm over 62 but I need to work until at least 65. But even if I can work until 65, social security will collapse if there's no workers paying into it. Besides that I do care about the younger generation. I have nieces and nephews in college and will be entering the job market over the next few years, what are they going to do? What are my much younger coworkers going to do? I will say, lets don't patronize businesses using AI, such as don't take a self driving taxi, but I don't know if it will matter. If ALL factories go to AI, and they will and at about the same time, we won't have a choice. Just like we didn't have a choice when we went from glass bottles to plastic which NO ONE wanted back in the day and now we have plastic in our DNA...oh well...did we even get an apology? Nobody cares about the long term or even mid or short term consequences of these decisions, it's just about making more money. It's so bizarre because it's like they all make these decisions at about the same time so you can't really boycott or have any power, indicating they are all in agreement and apparently have meetings about how to screw us over. Outsourcing....they all started at about the same time. What impact does that have on social security and medicare besides the US losing jobs and driving down wages? In what way did outsourcing help Americans? Manufacturing moving to China and other places...while it did drive down the cost of products....a lot of it is junk and was it worth the cost in jobs? Have we really had a benefit from it? We simply have not had, republicans or democrats, because we've had both in office, who truly care about the American people. We don't have people who actually analyze and study what these crazy decisions lead to. It's mind boggling, terrifying, frustrating, anxiety provoking, and rage provoking that we can't have basic policies on our side considering we pay the bulk of taxes. It makes me wonder about some of these gain of function virus studies. We aren't going to be needed so what are they up to? This will get censored I'm sure....that's another factor...we can't even talk among ourselves using real language anymore.
