Lots of people are saying that artists learn in the same way, by looking at other artists. Who do you think the first person to draw learnt from? Do you think a 4 year old trying to draw their mother is copying someone else’s art? Why are there unique styles to different people? Styles have to start somewhere and so does art. An A.I. would never have been able to do this without stealing artist’s work. Picasso invented a style, not by copying and redrawing other peoples art. This reasoning doesn’t work, while some people learn to draw from references, they aren’t mashing those references together in their head, they learn and adapt, we take other people’s ideas and mix them with our own original ideas. And most importantly we would credit anyone who’s style you were heavily inspired by. A.I. Art doesn’t acknowledge the people who’s art they’ve used, which discredits the artist for the thought, time and effort they’ve put into their art.
