I'm not sure these conversations are useful at all. When AI optimizes everything, and the marginal cost of production of anything drops to near zero, the value of human labor drops to zero, and all resources are in the hands of a relative handful of people making all their income from rent keeping, and a government of slaves. This is the way the world ends, and no strategy that is ever going to be implementable is going to stop it. Neither society, nor the companies creating these super-intelligences, are willing to acknowledge the truth that they aren't intelligent enough to prevent our folly. We are ultimately optimizing for zero.
