As great of a short story that "I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream" is, which I highly reccomend to anyone watching this video; I don't think AI or any computer could gain any sort of sentience. In the end, it's all binary code. Sure, it's gotten really smart and can recreate voices and generate ultra-realistic videos, but all the information it will ever know, it has absored from databases, human input and the internet. That's just like how we learn though, right? Well see, we learn things, atleast the things we truely retain, because we're interested in it. AI has to have a goal to do anything. It's all goal based. It will never physically feel, so it will never develop basic empathy, so it will never develop it's own true opions and emotions. It won't especially develop any hate for humanity for creating it. AI could still take over and destroy us all lol, but it would have to be set as it's goal that it must accomplish.
