I have zero interest in a "self-driving car". I imagine most drivers who consider themselves to be higher skilled at urban and highway driving - say, in the top 10% of all skill levels - likewise will have little interest. Self-driving cars will begin to be quite useful for the bottom 50% and more as this technology matures. Ideally, roads can be modified to help with safety. My guess is that we'll need 2 or 3 more decades for self-driving to become reliably safe. Updated roads will help, but this may take many decades.
