Hi! disabled artist here! In case anyone wants to call me out, Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder: Inattentive Type(formerly known as ADD), Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Depressive Disorder not otherwise specified, Anxiety Disorder not otherwise specified, executive function disorder, and Traumatic Abuse Syndrome. I've been found to be 100% disabled by the US government via several rounds of testing including a full battery Neuropsychological exam. With that out of the way (because there's *always* people claiming "ur not really disabled!") AI art is indeed theft. Can it be used responsibly? Yes. These companies skipped the simple "can i ask" portion of the whole "cool drawing mind if I copy/study it?" Im sure lots of artists would have said sure whatever. Skipping generative AI which is just kinda.. bad and doesn't have a ton of uses when a photograph or artist is cheap (dont claim it costs millions, go on fiverr some great artists will license you stuff for promotional aspects for literally just their signature *somewhere*) AI tools trained on like... old movies or videos that can then help clean up degraded or partially lost media can be cool. Sorry for rambling ^^; let me just say, sometimes it takes a long time to do art, when you struggle with burn out, with daily life because art doesn't cover the bills, when your software bugs out it makes a commission take some time but usually come out with some kind of passion and an acknowledgement you're helping an artist to keep creating. Make those struggling low dollar artists quit your machine feeds on itself and literally just poisons itself. Seriously go look up the effect of AI training itself on AI content, its been marked as a severe issue by AI companies since it causes a huge Entropy spike in data collection. You can type two sentences and get *allllll* the ghibli style grim dark batman fighting Naruto in candy land art you want. But you and I both know its gonna look wonky as hell. Final rambling note (sorry Lavender ^^; my mental issues truly do suck) "artistic" Entropy is a huge thing hitting these engines and it kinda makes me laugh. Because so many people request the same stuff or because its trained on certain popular things it tends to make all generations same-y its why most of the AI junk you've seen looks vaguely Pixar.
