Passed one of those today. Heading west on I-10 east of Wilcox Arizona. There was a human with hands hovering over the steering wheel. In a curve it was in the right lane. I was passing in the left. It got right up on the center line. I was wondering if it was going to go over the line, real close, got me ready to give it more room. It adjusted & got further into its lane. It is obvious that it was steering as though there was a lane to the right side. Keeping its trailer out of the lane to the right. In this case though. There was no lane to the right. It almost encroached into my lane to its left. It is obvious that they have not yet trained it to differentiate between another lane to the right & no lane to the right. To be safer, since there was no lane or traffic to the right. It would have been safer if it did not ride up on the center lane & allowed the trailer to be up against the right side line. Providing more room for the traffic on its left. The human looked like he was really worried. As it should not have encroached upon my lane, or even got close. I saw the cameras & sensing devices before I got up to the cab. It was going about 65 mph in a 75 mph zone. After I passed. I thought, I should have blown the horn. It was getting close enough, that I was getting ready to, to wake up the driver crossing the center line. But it corrected in time. I wish I had hit the horn. Would be interesting to see how it reacted. Driver might have needed to change shorts, he already looked nervous! Which made me think. Do they have microphones, that listen for horns. Horns are used to wake up those not paying attention. Will self driving semi react to a horn if the tractor or trailer is infringing upon another semi's lane???
