The way I see it is that OpenAI uses the articles—copyrighted work—of others, trains their AI on it, then sells their product—ChatGPT—which is built using others work. They are profiting off of others copyrighted work, so either the original article authors deserve payment, or OpenAI must stop charging for their services that use others’ works.
