I think people don't under the difference between the current AI systems and what the tech bros are reaching for-AGI-Artificial General Intelligence. If that was cracked then it would truly be transformative for all forms of employment. However, there is no guarantee of when it will be achieved...cuould be 5 years or 50 years. It might prove as tricky a problem in the end as sustained fusion powerplants and the current AI fad will be looked back upon as a false dawn for the technology.
