The deployment of generative AI to consumers is nothing more than a marketing trick and we've all bought it. The fact is the use cases that people perform on, say, ChatGPT are not the true use cases that are most important for the technology. The deployment was not to help us carry out these use cases but to get us comfortable with the brand, OpenAI and ChatGPT, and with the concept of "AI" in general. The goal is to ultimately make this the operating system, in the figurative sense, for the world. We have to comply for that to happen. Compliance is being gained through the wonder of tech like ChatGPT or its competitors. With that being true one has to ask why do you need to make people comply. It's because the technology itself is so disruptive. It has the power to complete reweave the social fabric of the world. This is a not positive. Distract people with bells and whistles, and stupid poems and photos of their dog on top of the Empire State Building and they will never know how dangerous it is.
