As with music, most styles and techniques have already been experimented with. Most progressions are already known, many a riff has been encountered and forgotten in a jam session.
Art, be it painting, sculpture, or artisan work among trades, have encountered most of what can be developed, though creativity does occasionally provide new techniques. The information age has accelerated the spread of any new discoveries.
There's little difference in an AI and a person mimicking the style of a previous artist. The AI however cannot consciously adjust a style to make it more "unique" compared to how a person might.
